Industrial ATEX fans for Dust & Gas

Our industrial fans are supplied with CE marking (safety of machinery) and can be supplied with Ex marking (potentially explosive atmospheres). BarkerBille ATEX fans can be supplied for category 2 and 3 (gas and dust) for use in systems located in zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. To meet the requirements, the fans have been specially designed, constructed and tested according to the most recent legislation.

BarkerBille ATEX Fans – Directives and Standards

BarkerBille fans for ATEX (explosive atmospheres) comply with the requirements of the following European Directives:

  • DIRECTIVE 2006/42/EC on machinery (Machinery Directive)
  • DIRECTIVE 2014/34/EU relating to equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX Directive).

BarkerBille fans are also designed to comply with the following standards:

  • EN ISO 12100:2010 Safety of machinery – General principles for design – Risk assessment and risk reduction
  • EN ISO 80079-36:2016 Explosive atmospheres – Part 36: Non-electrical equipment for explosive atmospheres – Basic method and requirements

ATEX – Explosive Atmospheres

ATEX is short for ATmosphère EXplosible. Equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres in the EU must comply with the Directive 2014/34/EU and applicable standards before it is introduced to the market.
