Flue Gas Fans

Every year we supply a large number of flue gas fans.

They range in design, size and characteristics, but they have the typical BarkerBille fan characteristics in common: high reliability and high energy efficiency.

We have already supplied hundreds of customers with our wide range of products. If you are in need of equipment that suit your company’s exact needs, you are very welcome to contact us to receive a quotation, to set up a meeting or to gain more information about our products.

Flue Gas Fan for Danish CHP Plant

At BarkerBille, we have designed and just completed the production of this flue gas fan for a waste-to-energy facility at a combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Denmark. It replaces an older fan of a different make, which had caused the customer frequent operational downtime. This issue has been a particular focus in the design process, and the new fan has been tailored to the specific operating conditions to reduce downtime and related disruptions.

Designed for Specific Operating Conditions

Due to the low operating temperatures, there is a high risk of condensation, which can lead to corrosion and material degradation. Therefore, all components exposed to the gas flow, such as the fan housing and impeller, are made of pickled and passivated stainless steel (EN 1.4462).

The fan housing will also be insulated, both to minimize the risk of condensation and to reduce noise levels. Furthermore, the design accounts for condensation risks through the use of appropriate flexible connections and special solutions for condensate drainage at the discharge point.

In addition, the fan is equipped with oil-lubricated bearings to reduce maintenance requirements.

Flue Gas Fans for District Heating Plant (DHP)

These flue gas fans were supplied to a 2×20 megawatt biofuel boiler at a Latvian DHP.

Equipped with 250kW motors, they will be sucking more than 100.000 cubic meter flue gas per hour at a pressure of 5.500 Pa when installed.

An essential part of the fan production process is the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) which as completed in at production facilities in Holsted, Denmrk. We test to ensure that the fan is balanced and running at optimum level before shipping it.

During testing, vibrations are measured according to applicable standards. Learn more about testing of our fans.

Flue Gas Fan for Fire Testing Facility

We have supplied a large flue gas fan for The Danish Institute of Fire and Security Technology (DBI). They who perform fire testing of e.g. fire doors or other components.

The DBI fan is designed to extract 100,000 m3 flue gases per hour at 2,100 Pa. and at temperatures of up to 550°C.

Efficient Flue Gas Fan

We have supplied this large centrifugal fan that is now part of a flue gas cleaning system.

The fan is manufactured in acid-proof stainless steel and designed for 99.802 m³/h and a pressure of 3.750 Pa. The fan is highly efficient with its 155 kW ABB SynRM (Synchronous relutance) motor-drive package.

This fan is a DAT type fan from our line of Heavy Duty Fans. Our Heavy Duty line fans are often chosen in connection with transport and handling of flue gasses.
