High Efficiency Fans for Boilers
These six high efficiency fans were designed and supplied by BarkerBille for two identical biomass boiler lines.
The two large fans are ID fans that remove 19,400 m³ 160°C hot flue gasses per hour at a pressure of 4,900 Pa. The other four fans are two primary air combustion fans and two secondary combustion air fans – that each supplies 5,244 m³/h at a static pressure of 3,400 Pa.
Due to the hot environment, the fan housings and consoles have been painted in heat resistant black.
Special High Efficiency Fans with Synchronous Reluctance IE4 Motors
As per customer request, all six fans are equipped with Siemens synchronous reluctance IE4 motors. With the synchronous reluctance technology, very high levels of efficiency at the rated operating point and under partial load can be achieved, with both high-power density and high dynamic performance.
So, in addition to the high efficiency thanks to BarkerBille fan design, with this type of motor the fans achieve additional efficiency and sustainability with a reduced footprint.
The synchronous reluctance motors are more expensive than the traditional asynchronous, but the payback time is usually short – often less than one year. At the same time, the service life of these motors is often much longer as they do not overheat.
