MOLDOW ACQUIRES BARKER JØRGENSEN MASKINFABRIK

Two quality products within industrial fans – now with the same owner

After Barker Jørgensen Maskinfabrik was declared bankrupt on Friday 30th, 2015, Moldow A/S has acquired the activities of the company as of February 3rd, 2015.
With the acquisition, the two Danish quality products within industrial fans will be owned by the same company, as sale and production of industrial fans also is one of Moldow’s three business areas.

“The acquisition is made as part of our strategy to expand and increase our market share. Our strategy plan focuses on all three business areas, and the acquisition of Barker Jørgensen will strengthen the position of our fan business”, explains Managing Director of Moldow, Preben Hansen.

The Barker Jørgensen products will now be manufactured and sold by the subsidiary Barker Fans A/S, which is owned 100% by Moldow A/S.

“We will continue to have two separate product lines within industrial fans: Moldow Fans and Barker Fans. The two product lines complement each other well, and we are convinced that the synergy effect will benefit our customers and both companies”, explains Søren Olesen, Sales Manager of Fans.

Gustav Feldstedt states: “I’m very pleased with Moldow’s acquisition of Barker Jørgensen, as this means that the company now has been secured financially. A large part of the employees wishes to continue as we see potential for great cooperation with Moldow’s staff and long-term development of Barker. We will continue to sell the Barker fans that our customers know so well”.

A large part of the staff from Barker Jørgensen will continue their employment with the company, and in the future they will share office facilities with Moldow’s employees in Værløse, Denmark.
It is not the first time Moldow acquires a competing company. In 2003 the company bought Moldow Systems, who supplied filter systems and painting plants to companies worldwide.
“We believe that this acquisition will contribute to boost our development considerably in the same way, and it is possible that we will make other acquisitions if an opportunity occurs”, says K. Preben Hansen.
